Obama Signs Order Expanding Overtime to More Salaried Employees

According to an article on contractormag.com, “President Obama has signed an executive order that will dramatically expand the number of employees who are entitled to overtime pay.”

A human resources consulting firm, SESCO Management Consultants, believes rules from the Department of Labor will expand the types of workers eligible for overtime pay. The current minimum guarantee salary threshold is $455 per week and will most likely be raised to as much as $1,000 per week, so to be eligible for an overtime exemption, the worker must be guranteed at least $52,000 per year.
