New Features

• Set a custom zoom percentage and return to it with one button click using the new Custom Zoom feature.
• Improved panning options. You can now “bump” the view to the mouse position by clicking the pan window or can move the window by double clicking it.
• Reset the Image Legend back to its default setting with the newly added Image tab context menu option.
• New option within area condition properties allows you to disable the display of an area takeoff’s pattern while drawing.
• In Options, the Show Right Angle line indicator and Connect Linear Takeoff choices have been added as optional preferences.

• New delete message on conditions list.
• Improved bid duplication performance, which also prevents drastic database increases.

Image Handling

• Need a TIFF? Convert the current page to a TIFF file with the new Convert to TIFF command in the image menu.
• Improved pasting takeoff. Takeoff copied from an object not in view will paste in top left corner of Plan View window.
• Improved PDF support. (OST now reads PDF files without converting them.)
• CPC files are now automatically converted to TIF without the CPCTool prompt.

Adjustments

• Adjusted the 3.3 issue pertaining to scrolling for users on a Windows Vista operating system.
• Adjusted the 3.3 issue with the print Image legend on some printers.
• Adjusted the 3.4 issue with the scale drop down not being enabled.
• Adjusted the 3.4 issue with folders in the Conditions List not remaining consistent from open to close of OST.
• Adjusted the 3.4 issue in which the Annotation Toolbar was not enabled if the user didn’t have a license.

Digital Production Control (DPC) Enhancements

• Improved performance. Quickly switch between image and budget tab when not changing percents or work date.
• Status bar and object tooltip now display budgeted and remaining labor hours for all selected DPC objects.
• Production Quick View window now has ability to move or be hidden from view.
• Labor Cost Code Panel has been updated to provide you with an easy way to select objects at various completion levels.
• Continuous roping feature allows you to select DPC objects that are not adjacent.
• The Timecard tab has been improved for easier data entry and readability.
• You can now manage your screen layout in DPC mode with the ability to move toolbars and windows. Like how your screen is laid out? Lock the toolbars in your preferred location.
• Added feature that forces entire bid package to be sent if the bid was unlocked and updated.
• Cost Code description now displays in Labor Cost Code list.
• The timecard calendar now displays all dates.
• Adjusted the 3.3 issue of DPC object blinking when selecting a Labor Cost Code on a previous date.

On Center Software recommends that if you have bids due that you wait to install any upgrade until you have sufficient time. It is also a good idea to make an archival backup of your database files before installing any upgrade.

• Once the download is complete, double-click the file OST350Setup.exe to run the Installer.
• The installer will remove your previous version, then install the upgraded application.

NOTE: Your data files will not be affected until they are accessed in this version of On-Screen Takeff.

 

Note: On-Screen Takeoff 3.5 is an upgrade to 3.4.1, if you have a version of On-Screen Takeoff prior to v. 3.4.1.526, you will need to uninstall that version before installing v.3.5. Uninstalling On-Screen Takeff does not affect your data files.

7/17/2007 - The special characters:  %, *, <, >, ?, :, |, or " in a Project Name will cause the program to crash when trying to create an OSP file.  

Work Around = Do not use these characters in the Project Name.

(FIXED)7/17/2007 - The Estimator Filter is current not working correctly on the Bids Tab. We are working to correct this and will have an updated Installer posted as soon as possible. FIXED - v.3.5.0.55

(FIXED)7/18/2007 9:15 a.m. - Printing the Image Tab in Landscape mode is not working. Our developers are working on a fix, item # 12020.

(FIXED)7/20/2007 8:32 a.m. - Custom Scale is not displaying correctly on Image tab although if you check the CoverSheet is it being saved correctly. Defect # 12034

7/30/2007 - 2 Printing issues have been identified: 1.) When multiple pages are previewed, user is unable to select a range to print. 2.) Print settings changed on the preview tab via the "Setup" button are not being saved. Both of these have been assisgned defect # 12050 and will be fixed in release 3.6.

8/16/2007 - When drawing linear takeoff in continuous mode, pressing the delete key twice will cause OST to shut down. This will be fixed in OST 3.6, however, to keep the program from shutting down, simply click each segment of takeoff using your mouse or digitizer pen before pressing the delete key.

8/16/2007 - Image paths longer than 250 characters will cause OST to crash or not display the image. This is a limitation of the operating enviroment. The fix is to store images in a location that keeps the entire file path to less than 250 characters.  This is most noticable when images are stored on a server.

Q. I receive the following an error message indicating the "ENGINE" is not installed. What do I do?

A. Download the newest MSI Engine here MSI3 and follow Microsoft's instructions for installation.

 

Q. After installation, all my databases appear to be in Read Only mode.

A. You more than likely need to re-authorize your application. Click FILE>Check Authorization, then click "Reauthorize".  If you are using a Floating License, you will need to contact your System Administrator to ensure the OCS License Manager server is reauthorized before attempting to use On-Screen Takeoff.
