Digital Production Controlâ„¢ has two main license types, Project Manager and Foreman. A company must have at least one PM version to use Digital Production Control - they could use many foreman versions for field entry.

The Foreman license provides field workers a slightly less feature-rich product with just the functionality that a typical field employee might need.

The PM license provides the Estimator/Project Manager all the functionality a Foreman has, plus various management-level features. The PM license is required to convert an On-Screen Takeoff file and Quick Bid estimate into a Digital Production Control project.

Feature Comparison

Project Manager License (meant to be the main install of Digital Production Control)

  • Can convert bid to Digital Production Control job (necessary step to use Digital Production Control)
  • Can Send Digital Production Control package files to other users
  • Can convert the Digital Production Control project back to takeoff mode to add change orders or make other changes
  • Can Approve timecards
  • Can assign Project Managers and Foremen on the Cover Sheet

Foreman License (meant to be a satellite install of Digital Production Control)

  • Can percent work, enter timecards, and enter notes
  • Can receive Digital Production Control jobs from a Project Manager (cannot create Digital Production Control jobs)
  • Can send Digital Production Control change files (percenting information and timecards) to the PM
  • Cannot change the original bid or takeoff but can return to Takeoff mode to view takeoff
  • Can draw Annotations that are included in the change file returned to PM
  • Cannot Approve timecards
  • Cannot assign Project Managers or Foremen to the Cover Sheet
