Welcome to The Buzz, your source for the latest developments and happenings at On Center Software.
AGC Conference
On Center Software recently participated in the Associated General Contractors of America trade show in San Antonio, TX. Numerous customers, prospects, and vendors participated, and the overall show was a great success!
Trade show attendees who visited the On Center booth were given demonstrations of QuickBid and On-Screen Takeoff. The demonstrations highlighted advanced capabilities and enhancements that have been made as well as a sneak preview of “coming soon” features.
Our upcoming auto count /object recognition feature in On-Screen Takeoff was a huge hit. Our clients are eagerly anticipating its release, saying it will be a huge time saver.
We also spoke to a number of clients about Vista compatibility. Though some of our clients are not yet moving in that direction, On Center is on track to release Vista-ready versions of On-Screen Takeoff 3.4 and QuickBid 4.7.
Kudos and a big thank you to Kevin Miller, On Center Professor of Construction Management, for presenting an On-Screen Takeoff seminar that generated a HUGE response from the AGC audience. His knowledge of the program was a great plus as he was able to demonstrate estimating with electronic images. As always, Kevin did a phenomenal job of demonstrating OST!
Congratulations and thanks to all On Center employees who made our AGC participation a great success!
Academic Program
Many students and professors came to the On Center booth at the AGC to inquire about the Academic Program, initiated by Crystal Barger, On Center Business Development Specialist. We explained that the academic program was an easy and economical way to provide students with the latest technology in the electronic software market, demonstrating how to streamline the estimating and takeoff processes.
In fact, On Center recently welcomed Northwestern University as a new member of the Academic Program. The university will be teaching OST in the Department of Civil and Environmental Engineering. This brings the total number of universities participating in the program to 147.
