Enhanced programs make takeoff, estimating and bidding even easier

THE WOODLANDS, TEXAS – (May 15, 2007) – On Center Software, the construction software company that turns winning bids into profitable projects, announced the release of On-Screen Takeoff® Version 3.4 and Quick Bid 4.7. On-Screen Takeoff has been lauded by users for its ability to streamline the takeoff process by completing measurements and calculations using paper plans or electronic plan images — meaning faster and more accurate takeoffs. Quick Bid enables estimators to be more thorough and productive by automating many of the functions that are typically performed manually.

Enhancements to On-Screen Takeoff include:
 New Auto Count feature that automatically finds and counts repetitive objects in the image that a user defines on the plans
 Ability to auto-fill the area inside a backout with another area condition
 New option for packing or zipping a bid into a separate file
 Added drawing feature “snap to 90º corners” that will indicate right angles when taking off area objects
 New positioning capabilities for condition legend allow user to position and format items individually
 Added option to print only pages with takeoff
 Added new quantity type ‘Perimeter minus backout perimeters’
 Added feature to login dialog that remembers name and password
 Alphabetical sort for condition list on the Takeoff tab
 Added ‘Zoom Full Page’ button to the Tools toolbar
 Added a ‘Tell a Friend’ feature to the main toolbar that allows users to recommend On-Screen Takeoff
 Microsoft Windows Vista compatible

Enhancements to Quick Bid include:
 Condition Detail print (report) has been formatted to show 19 characters for the item code (previously only showed eight characters of the code.) The entire layout has been enhanced to show two rows per one onscreen, for easier reading
 Added Custom Reporting capabilities
 Copy/Paste functionality has been added to the Payroll Class detail window so users can very quickly setup or change payroll classes
 Added Bid Locking feature to share bids without compromising information
 Bid Navigator now shows an On-Screen Takeoff® icon when a bid is set to price using Quick Bid. This will help the user know when a bid is connected to On-Screen Takeoff, keeping them from making changes (no need to go to the bids tab to see if it’s connected)

 Changed backup functionality for access databases by including a feature that asks the user if he/she would like to backup the database(s)
 All Master level dialogs now indicate such on the title bar making it easier for the user to determine if they are affecting master records or just the bid records
 Added Tell A Friend button, to recommend the ProfitBuilding SuiteTM.
